Nimra Mehmood Malik , and Maria Zeb

Background: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is an idiopathic neurodegenerative disorder targeting seven to ten million of the elderly population. The PARK7 mutation triggers the loss of DJ-1 protein, leading to the early onset of PD. Objective: Our study aims to identify the PARK7 protein interactions and its potent interacting inhibitor by implying various bioinformatics tools. Methodology: In the present study, expression analysis was performed to determine the PARK7 gene expression levels in the CSF of PD patients. Then a detailed spectrum analysis was performed for the quantification of the PARK7 protein fragment. Further, the ligand interactions of the PARK7 protein and α-synuclein were studied through LIGPLOT. Several bioinformatic tools were employed to study the protein-protein interactions along with post-translational modifications. Lastly, the technique of molecular docking was implied to detect the potent MAO-B inhibitor of the PARK7 protein. Results: Our study demonstrated modified expression levels of the PARK7 protein. The PARK7 expression analysis displayed a P value of 0.0106 for healthy versus sporadic PD. While healthy versus genetic PD exhibited a P value of 0.0013. Our detailed spectrum analysis illustrated 13 percent sequence coverage for PARK7_HUMAN across the MS sample. Further, this research introduced three biological replicates: (K) VTVAGLAGK(D);(K) VTTHPLAK(D)& (K) DGLILTSR(G) with 100%; 99%& 99% probabilities, respectively. Moreover, the docking results suggested Safinamide with a -5.4492 best energy score, to be a more potent interacting inhibitor as compared to Selegiline and Rasagiline. Conclusion: The outcome of this study offers early characterization and targeting of proteins, enabling effective diagnosis of PD.

A Comparative Review of Business Models in Information SecurityPDF

Richard Omollo

This paper appreciates the basic tenets of information as defined by the CIA and discusses the various Information security business models. Information security has been defined as the preservation of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, also known as the CIA triad, of information by guarding against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, alteration, and destruction of information and information systems or assets. It further simplified information security by ensuring information confidentiality, integrity, and availability. It is the aspect of ensuring information is only accessible to the right persons, protecting information from unauthorized modifications, and ensuring information is available to authorized users whenever they need it. Existing Information security business models serve as a guide in comprehending the challenges to confidentiality, integrity, and availability of known systems. This research study appreciated various business models and offered their comparative review.

The study aimed to examine the public views on climate change impacts and the enjoyment of human rights in Port Loko City, North West region Sierra Leone. The world’s climatic conditions have led to many unforeseen occurrences globally. The world is witnessing one of the perils of climate change impacts in diverse places. The rise in sea level, surface temperature, ocean acidity and the effects of the green house gases have led to serious threatened impacts leading to loss of lives, natural resources, ecosystems, physical infrastructures and environmental degradation thereby posing serious threat to the enjoyment of human rights in-terms of accessing to food, clean water and other key resources to support human life. The quantitative method of inquiry was used. Overall fifty (50) participants were chosen to represent in this study through the use of convenience sampling. Structured interviews surveys were used to collect data from participants of the study. The descriptive analysis method was employed to give meaning to the data collected through the representation of tables and pie chart. The empirical findings shows that climate change impacts posed threat in the areas of accessing to water, increase temperatures, declining food and fish production and causing flooding that leads to displacements. For solutions, the finding shows that, embarking on planting trees, discouraging charcoal burning, increasing the participation of community members through sensitization and using renewable source of energy instead of fossil fuels are better ways of mitigating and adapting to climate change impacts. In conclusion, the author calls on all governmental and non-governmental sectors and departments to consider climate change as key area of deliberations. The people of the Arfak Mountains since the time of their ancestors have depended heavily on nature/forests for their livelihoods. On the other hand, the Government feels the need to take preventive action to prevent uncontrolled exploitation which causes natural damage, including clearing land for infrastructure development and also building access roads. connecting Manokwari district, South Manokwari district. Therefore, communities around the Arfak Mountains Nature Reserve area are adapting to the new 'reality' they face, through social and ecological construction. The aim of this research is: To determine the socio-ecological construction of the Arfak Mountains community as a social adaptation and ecological adaptation to the existence of the Arfak Mountains Nature Re-serve. The research was conducted from November-December 2023. The research method was carried out by interviewing traditional tribal heads, people who hunt, and village heads. The results of this research indicate that the Arfak Tribe is currently experiencing social change or social construction. The social construction that occurs is closely related to their strategy to improve the economy and prosperity. The collaboration between the traditional institutional system and the village government in managing the manage-ment of the natural resources they own has resulted in quite a few members of the Arfak tribe also experiencing changes in their lives. Social construction which is based on changes in thinking patterns of both individuals and groups certainly leads to improvements in living standards and welfare. The existence of the Arfak Mountains Nature Reserve has indirectly provided a change in communal thinking regarding the importance of maintaining biodiversity. This change in mindset is actualized in the practice of self-managed, well-organized ecotourism management.
